The State of Michigan was kind enough to contribute to the purchase of a new acoustic guitar Thursday night. That was sure nice of the state. That purchase accounts for the irresponsible part of my income tax return; the rest goes to prior debts.
But anyway, the guitar: I ended up getting myself a Yamaha FGX04LTD Limited Edition. It’s got rosewood back & sides, and a spruce front. It is an electric-acoustic folk guitar, so I can plug it into an amp and have crazy awesome amplified sound.
As for new music.. click read more for info lots of new bands & cds.
The Beautiful Mistake - This is Who You Are
It’s not out in stores yet, but when it is I am definetly buying it. It’s a great cd, definetly worth the purchase.
The Lyndsay Diaries - The Tops of Trees are on Fire
Like Dashboard Confessional? Like mellow/emo/acoustic music? You’ll like the Lyndsay Diaries. The older CD (Remember the Memories) just came in the mail yesterday, and it is equally as good.
All-Time Quarterback - All-Time Quarterback
My friend Amanda told me about this (yet another) side project with Ben from Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service. It’s lo-fi, acoustic guitar, a keybaord, and him. Very cool stuff, especially if you like the slow DCFC stuff.
Never Heard of It - 11 Days
Pop-punk. It’s all the same, for the most part. You like pop punk? You’ll like this. It’s got a crazy hidden track — a techno/rap song featuring California’s own Governor Arnold S.

Word. Michigan’s graduated license system sucks a fat one as well.
