The Golden Girls theme song: what a great song.

So it’s been a while. I’ve been busy. Two weeks ago, I travelled (by bus) down to Atlanta for the FIRST championship event. Six days on the road; what an awesome experience. I got to help out volunteering a bit here & there, hung out with some great friends at night, and didn’t have to think about everyday life for almost a week. Robots, robots.

I think every other week or two, for the past two months, I have been sick. Just when I think everything is clearing up, it hits me again like a brick wall. I should probably go to the doctor and get this junk all cleared up. That would require me to not be lazy, and I’m liking my laziness at the moment.

This past weekend (Thursday, too) I had the pleasure of crazy Amanda’s company. We sat round, ate food, watched movies, looked at pictures, and rocked out on the guitar a little. I wish we could’ve played more guitar; I had a song to play that got overlooked. Oh well .. I guess there’s only so many minutes in a day. There’s always next time.

I like music. No, really? I bought lots of new CDs this weekend, too.

Reggie & The Full Effect - Greatest Hits ‘84-’87 - The re-issue of a ko-wality album, with 7 new songs. The Lord of the Bling trilogy is amazing. I think I have a copy of this coming from Amazon too, but it’s been stuck at a Troy post office for like 6 weeks. Whoops.
Rock Against Bush, Vol. 1 - A nice anti-George W. album, packed with angry music and facts about why Bush is an idiot and a moron. I scanned the cover to get the facts online: check em out.
The Hurt Process - Drive By Monologue - I’m a sucker. Record labels love me. They can say ‘buy this, you will like it’ and I will buy it; and I did. “Fans of Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, and From Autumn to Ashes, this is a must-have.”, so I must have it. I’m glad I did, it’s a really good CD. They weren’t lying when they listed their 3-4 most successful bands from their label.
The Cooper Temple Clause - Kick Up the Fire and Let the Flames Break Loose - Like Radiohead? Muse? U2? You’d like this band. I wasn’t planning on buying this, but for $9 I figured eh, why not.
Emery - The Weak’s End - I thought it was time to get this one. I saw them live, and listened to the CD a ton, its about time I legally own it.

Check out the MP3 player up top for songs from all of these (and more). Woo.

I’m proud. I did it. I’ve helped 3 billion 15-year-olds learn a song today.

Here she is in all her glory. ‘Breathe’ by Feeling Left Out is the second song I’ve ever taken the time to write out (and it took some time, believe me). The first song was ‘Oh, Canada’ by Five Iron Frenzy, way back in 1996 or something. Unfortunately I can’t find that online anywhere, and don’t have a copy of it. I’d really like to see how good (or bad) it was.

If interested, ‘Breathe’ can be found up in the flash mp3 player at the top of the site. See? It is convenient. The past two evenings have been filled with crazy amounts of motivation .. will it last? Probably not.

No — I hate flash, not hyenas. Don’t worry, PETA.

So I was bored, and wrote a mp3 player for the top of my site. Now I can just say ‘hey, listen to that song up there.’ instead of linking to a mp3. Super. The songs that are up there currently are a few of my favorite songs of the moment. Enjoy.

It is now time to go play some Call of Duty ’till the early morning hours. Hooray.

I don’t read. Why? I don’t know. So I’ve decided to change that. Maybe I’ll learn something, or be entertained by something other than something digital (games, computers, music, tv, movies). I have to put these new glasses to work, I suppose.

So, what am I going to read? 1984 and Brave New World should both arrive before my trip to Atlanta, and keep me occupied for the drive. Driving to Atlanta .. MapQuest says 11 hours. Add the ‘I’m in a bus’ factor, so probably somewhere around 26 hours on the road. Should be plenty of time to sleep —err read the two books I ordered from Amazon. Big thanks to Miss. Amanda for suggesting the books, as well as some interesting short stories. (A Sound of Thunder and Harrison Bergeron) Amanda and I got to watch a bunch of movies, rock out on the guitar, and have an altogether awesome weekend.

And now, it’s time to go hit the Q and pass out.
