About 2-3 months before my 2 year AppleCare protection ran out, my 3G iPod’s battery started to get weak. After 2 years, the 8-hour battery is supposed to last at least 4 hours before dying — mine would last 15-60 minutes, if I was lucky. After taking it to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store, letting them test it and tell me it was fine (twice), my warranty expired. Oh well.
Yesterday in the mail, for $35 shipped, I got a new battery (with 29% more life than the original) from iPodJuice.com. It took about 10 minutes to install, and after charging all night I was able to get to work and still have what looked to be 100% battery life, according to the meter on the front of the iPod. My old battery would die by the time I got to work; if for some reason it didn’t, it would have a small sliver of battery on the meter.
So, in conclusion, iPodJuice is good — a music-filled, radio-free drive to work is better.
