Oh yeah, I have this site. I’ve been keeping busy.
- I got a new computer. I love the new 20″ Intel iMac.
- I got a new bedroom set.
- I got a new (free) kitchen table.
- I’ve been rockin’ a bit. (No link, just yet.)
- I’ve been working. (Yeah, no link of interest.)
- I’ve been building robots (and websites for robots)
I haven’t had much to say, so I haven’t.
Hmm, I have (had) some free time, tonight.
Catch up on some work? Um, nah. (hah)
Work on some websites for fun? Nah.
Work on some websites for money? Nah.
Watch a movie? Nah. No more.
Learn a new song? Nah.
Write a new song? Nah. Can’t.
Go out and take pictures? Nah.
Stay in and take pictures? Nah.
Look at houses online? Nah. No more.
Surf Flickr? Nah. No more.
Clean up? Nah. It’s not too bad in here.
Listen to music? Nah. No more.
Sleep? Probably, soon.
I want to do most of the above, but when I start to (or attempt to start to) do them, I have this strong urge to not be doing them, almost instantly after I start them. You know something’s out of whack when relatively easy money doesn’t even motivate you. I need to reboot myself, somehow. Blah? Nah.
Where have I been?
Jackie and I drove down to West Lafayette, Indiana to the FIRST Robotics Boilermaker regional. We watched some robots. I got to see a bunch of my awesome robotics friends. The cover band I’m in played a 2-set show for a bunch of people. I got pulled over for going 56 in a 40 (oops.), but only got a written warning — what a nice sheriff. Then we drove home.
After a few days of work and resting, my dad and I drove over to Chicago for the Midwest regional, at the University of Chicago - Illionis. We watched some robots and got to hang out with a bunch of robotics friends. DSK played at the UIC Pavilion (a hockey arena) on their huge PA system. It was loud. It was awesome. We played our best show ever, I think (except for those first two songs .. both guitarists forgot how to play them, and its noticable to us at least). We have mp3’s and some video, and they’re going up slowly on our website. It was so much fun planning, practicing, and playing. The other guys in the band are amazing people, and awesome musicians. It was great.
And now — I’m taking a break from things, trying to stay happy (and it’s pretty easy these days, luckily), and just living life. The local bands are trying to get things going again, and that’s exciting. I really want to start playing more shows. It’s fun.
I’ve got tons of new music to share (not share, share — but to tell you about) and those posts will come in the next few days. Oh, it’s so good. I promise.
… not to be confused with Pizza Pizza.
I moved the moblog over to Flickr!, along with a few hundred pictures I’ve taken over the last few years. You can see the 5 recent pictures from my (crappy) camera phone up top, and a random picture from my Flickr! account over on the right column. I upgraded to a Pro account (unlimited storage, unlimited galleries, etc) for $3.48/mo, so hopefully that will motivate me to take some more pictures.
For those of you who are involved with FIRST, I’ve made a FIRST group, so if you need somewhere to store your photos, go sign up and join the group.
