Angry music calms me down.
Acoustic music calms me down.
Music calms me down.
I like that.
I like music. I like to know what the words are, most of the time. The problem is that if you don’t have the CD case handy you’re stuck relying on the Internet — and most lyrics sites are horrible.
So an old c-worker of mine, Anton, and I have been trying to make a light-weight, no pop-up ads, no flashy ads, no distractions, no mis-leading links, text-only lyrics site.
It’s not completely done yet, but a lot of the data is there and I figured I’d get some traffic going there. We have over 18,096 artists and 440,532 songs, with more being added all the time.

Doing so is not intended to be a mass organization of music piracy but, rather, one single display of the consumptive power of the mash-up and home remix community in the hopes of encouraging the labels, publishers and artists who are curious about the mash-up community to consider giving the high quality productions of “illegitimate” music a legitimate consideration as a promotional avenue for all music.
